Arun Balaji Sundaram is a seasoned Principal Engineer with over 14 years of experience in software engineering and management. He has a proven track record of designing and developing robust, scalable software for high-volume and latency-sensitive systems critical to the firm. Arun has built several systems from scratch, re-architected age-old systems, and achieved significant performance improvement, stability, and robustness. Arun has worked with a wide range of technologies, including Python, Java, SpringBoot, PERL, Cassandra, Sybase, MSSQL, mongo, ElasticSearch, Redis, AWS, and JavaScript. He has built and led a new team in the D. E. Shaw India office for the Futures trading group in the New York office. The team co-develops infrastructure and trading technology along with developers from the New York office. Arun has managed Equities and Futures teams from different domains with an overall team size of 6-7. He has interfaced with several business groups and their unit heads from the NY office and collaborated with several teams (technical/non-technical) in the Indian office.
